J.P. Richey

This is J.P. Richey. Will's youngest sibling is a senior this year in Louisiana. He is considered to be the most artistic of the four siblings, always doing something connected to music, art, theater or well you name it and he pretty much can tell you something about it if he hasn't done it. He stayed with us for about 2 weeks this past summer and wanted me to take some shots of him with his long hair. He tends to grow it out during the summer before having to cut it off when school starts back up in the fall. He actually went extreme at the beginning of the school year and shaved it all off. I guess he was tired of being compared to John Mayer and decided to shock all his friends. :) Sorry J.P., I had to mention it. So, we took some shots in Las Colinas near the canal and in downtown Fort Worth. It was a quick and laid back shoot which very much fits J.P's personality. Yes, unfortunately, these pics have been on the back burner since late summer but I finally finished them!

Sarah Friedl

Is she a doll or what??? This is my good friend Julia's daughter. Sarah turned 1 in July. She is super independent for a 1 year old but also very sweet. I had fun chasing her around trying to get some good shots. We started in their loft and then moved outside to the walkways and stairs and then into the clubhouse. By the end of the shoot, Sarah was pooped as you can see in the final pic but she didn't give in too easily. When she finally fell asleep I was able to get some calm and quiet naptime shots in and we squeezed the pink bunny in the picture too. Precious, precious,precious...

Grayson West

September 21, 2008

Grayson is the new baby boy of my good friends Kelly and Joel. He was born on September 8th and was just thirteen days new in these pics. I was so excited to do this shoot not only because Kelly and I are good friends but because I love the newborn shoots. As you can see they are a beautiful family and are so happy to be new parents. I can't wait to see them grow as a family and hopefully get more pics along the way.

DaVerse Lounge Kids

May 2008 - Backing up a few months

The DaVerse Kids are some young cool friends of ours that Will met four years ago through our good friend Darius. Darius is a teacher in DISD and he and Will work extensively throughout the metroplex with teens and the arts, specifically creative writing and spoken word poetry. The kids in the photos are Niecee, Daphne, Anthony and Tommy. They are all talented individuals who love writing poetry and sharing their work. I call them the DaVerse Lounge Kids because they have become the familiar faces of an event called DaVerse Lounge, a free under 21 open-mic hosted by Will at the Dallas Theater Center during the school year. This is the fourth season and planning for next years season is already underway. You can check out more about the event at www.daverselounge.com. For some recent pics of the event you can also check out our friends blog, www.emilyalexander.blogspot.com.

Stella

July 10, 2008

Baby Stella was born to my friend and co-worker Justin Helpenstill. These were taken at just three weeks old. Her blue eyes shined bright and she was just so precious. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect model than Stella. Hopefully, I will have the opportunity to see her grow and capture some of those moments as well. Until then....enjoy this sweetie!
